"ASAN service" at the VII “World Government Summit”


Delegation led by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan paid a visit to Dubai to take part in the VII “World Government Summit”.

A delegation of the State Agency participated in the special forum on "State Services" organized within the framework of the Summit. During the forum wide information was given on the reforms, directed to the improvement and modernization of public administration in recent years by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan - Ilham Aliyev, as well as the establishment, goals and directions of the "ASAN service" centers as an integral part of these reforms and E-Government building issues. It was also emphasized that improvements in the provision of public services have a positive impact on other areas in terms of ensuring sustainable development.

High-level representatives from such countries as the United States, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), India, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, as well as specialists representing international organizations, civil society and private sector have participated at the ongoing event full of extensive discussions and questions.

During the event, the Chairman of the State Agency Ulvi Mehdiyev held meetings with a number of public officials.

The meetings were organized with Mohammed Ben Abdelkader, Minister of Administrative Reforms and Civil Service of Morocco, Suzana Pribilović, Minister of Public Administration of Montenegro, David Karubanqa, State Minister of Public Services of Uganda and Diah Natalisa, Deputy Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms of the Republic of Indonesia. The discussions on the activities envisaged under the implementation of the Memorandums of Understanding between the State Agency and the relevant agencies were held during that meetings.

During the visit bilateral meetings were also held with Abdulla Bin Touq, Secretary-General of the Cabinet of Ministers of the UAE and Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Minister of Local Community Development.

Furthermore, during the meetings the sides discussed prospects of cooperation between the parties in the field of public services and social innovations.

Some of the meetings were held at the “Azerbaijan Trade House”, which was launched in Dubai upon the initiative of the State Agency.
