"ASAN service" organized a plenary session at the UN


Under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the framework of the 22nd session of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), a plenary session on "Transforming public service delivery through human-centered design and collaborative management" was organized by the State Agency for Citizen Service and Social Innovation and the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.

About 60 guests from more than 20 countries and international entities participated in the session.

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs spokesman opening the plenary session noted that the field of providing public services should be constantly improved, and the exceptional role of "ASAN service". The UN official noted the importance of continuing the promotion and use of our country's "ASAN service" model in other countries as one of the most advanced practices worldwide..

Chairman of the State Agency Mr. Ulvi Mehdiyev informed the audience about "ASAN service" as well as other activities of the State Agency. He emphasized that the citizen of Azerbaijan stands at the center of the policy implemented in our country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, and the establishment of "ASAN service" centers is one of the important reforms implemented in this direction.

The representative of the International Relations Department of the State Agency made a broad presentation about the Electronic Register of State Services, "ASAN service index", "ASAN application" information system and "INNOLAND" Incubation and Acceleration Center.

Members of the Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) and the Secretary General of the United African Organization of Cities and Local Governments (UCLG Africa) spoke in the session. Aminata Toure, a member of CEPA, Senegal and former Senegalese Prime Minister, noted that the scope of use of the "ASAN service" on the African continent must be expanded. Devon Rov, a member of CEPA from Jamaica, and Najat Zarruk, a member from the Kingdom of Morocco, noted the importance of opinion polls of citizens via various sources in "ASAN service" centers, and the evaluation system based on the "ASAN service" index in improving the provision of public services. Rolf Alter, a member of CEPA, Germany, spoke about the uniqueness of Mobile ASAN service in providing equal access and accessibility to services. The speakers noted that the "ASAN service" concept is one of the vital reforms performed by the Republic of Azerbaijan in public services, and this experience can be set as an example to the world. In addition, participants noted the importance of applying the "ASAN service index" in the international evaluation system for the provision of public services.
