"ASAN Service" initiates a new project with the UN.
During the visit to the United States of America, a delegation led by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, participated in the 23rd session of the UN Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA) held in New York.
The chairman of the State Agency spoke at the CEPA session titled "Exchange of Promising Practices between Voluntary National Reporting Countries and Voluntary Local Reporting Cities for the Implementation of the 16th and 17th Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)." The speech included detailed information about the activities of "ASAN Service," established on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, as well as projects implemented by the State Agency towards achieving the 16th and 17th SDGs. Additionally, the international achievements of "ASAN Service" and the significance of training programs conducted by the "ASAN Innovative Development Center" in various areas were highlighted.
During the visit, Ulvi Mehdiyev met with Li Junhua, Deputy Secretary-General of the UN for Economic and Social Affairs. The meeting discussed the successful cooperation between the State Agency and the relevant UN department since 2013. Li Junhua highlighted that "ASAN Service" received two awards from the UN and emphasized the importance of applying this model in other countries.
A new cooperation project between the State Agency and the UN was agreed upon during the meeting, aiming to implement the "ASAN Service" model globally.
Additionally, a meeting was held with Ivana Zivkovic, Director of the Regional Office of the United Nations Development Program. The Chairman of the State Agency presented an overview of "ASAN Service" activities. Ivana Zivkovic mentioned past projects between the State Agency and the UN Development Program and expressed readiness for future cooperation in relevant areas.
As part of the visit, the Chairman of the State Agency also met with Azerbaijani students in New York and neighboring states, as well as local youth, at the invitation of the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Farid Gayibov.
