Japan interested in learning about "ASAN Service" experience

On June 13, 2024, Katsuya Watanabe, Japan's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the "ASAN Service" center to familiarize himself with its operations.
Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, welcomed the guest and provided him with the detailed information about "ASAN Service" and other areas of the Agency's activity. It was emphasized that "ASAN service," initiated by President Ilham Aliyev, has played a significant role in ensuring citizens' access to public services.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that the State Agency collaborates with over 20 countries and international organizations to share the "ASAN service" experience.
Additionally, it was noted that the State Agency was awarded the United Nations Public Service Award in 2015 and the UN's special award in 2019 for its advancements in public services through the implementation of innovative solutions.
Both parties emphasized the need to expand cooperation between the State Agency and relevant institutions of Japan.
Ambassador Watanabe expressed his appreciation for the conditions created for citizens in delivering public services at "ASAN service" and indicated Japan’s interest in learning from Azerbaijan’s relevant experiences
The guest also got acquainted of the "INNOLAND" Incubation and Acceleration Center, as well as the "ABAD" and "Bilim Baku" centers.
