“ASAN service” in the spotlight at the UN event
The United Nations (UN) Public Service Forum is being held in the Republic of Korea on June 24 - 26, 2024.
A delegation led by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, is representing Azerbaijan at the Forum.
The purpose of the forum is to conduct discussions on effective public administration, advanced models of public service delivery, and similar issues, as well as to exchange positive experiences of states in this direction and to organize an award ceremony.”
In this context, the forum brings together over 1,000 participants, including heads of leading ministries and organizations from different states, international experts, as well as representatives of the media and business community.
On the first day of the Forum, Chairman of the State Agency held bilateral meetings with Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations; Li Junhua, UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs; Lee Yong-Suk, Deputy Minister of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea; Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and Vincent Hungwe, Chairman of the Public Service Commission of Zimbabwe.
During the meeting with the Korean side, satisfaction was expressed with the work carried out under the Memorandum of Understanding signed in Baku in 2016 between the two institutions, and discussions were held regarding future areas of cooperation.
In the meetings with the Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia and the head of the relevant institution in Zimbabwe, the Chairman of the State Agency provided an extensive presentation on the "ASAN service" established under the initiative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the innovations implemented there, and the achievements obtained. An agreement was reached on sharing the "ASAN Service" experience with these countries.
As part of the forum, a session titled "Spreading Innovation, Gender, and Climate Elements for Public Service Transformation" will be organized by "ASAN service", the United Cities and Local Governments of Africa (UCLGA), the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), the Incheon City Government of the Republic of Korea, and the Agency for Civil Service Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The UN Public Service Forum has been held since 2003, and in 2019, our country hosted this prestigious forum jointly organized by "ASAN service" and the UN.
