Over 200 centers established in Indonesia based on the “ASAN service” model
A delegation led by Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, visited the Republic of Indonesia at the invitation of Abdullah Azwar Anas, Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms of the Republic of Indonesia.
The delegation was first received by Ma’ruf Amin, Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. Ma'ruf Amin expressed his gratitude for the achievements in public services inspired by Azerbaijan's ASAN service model. The Vice President noted that following the opening of the first public service center in Banyuwangi province, over 200 such centers have already been established in Indonesia and this number is expected to increase to 500. It was also emphasized that, in order to achieve economic growth and attract investment, both countries encourage the delivery of public services to society and the private sector within the framework of common interests.
The Vice President expressed his interest in sharing future ASAN Service innovations in public services and social innovations with Indonesia.
During the visit, Ulvi Mehdiyev also held a bilateral meeting with Abdullah Azwar Anas, Indonesia’s Minister on Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms. The Indonesia’s minister stated that more than 200 citizen service centers currently operate in his country based on the “ASAN Service” model and expressed his gratitude for the support.
In turn, the Chairman of the State Agency, thanked the Indonesian side for their hospitality and reaffirmed Azerbaijan's commitment to continuing to support the provision of public services.
During the meeting, an Action Plan was signed under the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Provision of Progressive Public Services between the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms of the Republic of Indonesia.
The delegation also familiarized themselves with the “Jakarta Smart City” project which is being implemented in the capital of Indonesia, with a presentation provided by the city administration.
