“ASAN Service” Delegation on a Business Trip to Uzbekistan

On July 9-10, 2024, a delegation led by Jeyhun Salmanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, paid an official visit to Tashkent and Bukhara cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The purpose of the visit was to participate in the 13th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, held in Bukhara under the co-chairmanship of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and to hold business meetings with relevant government institutions of Uzbekistan.  During the meeting of the Commission, z discussed, and a protocol on the outcomes of the 13th session of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission was signed.

During the visit, a bilateral meeting was held in Tashkent between the Deputy Chairman of the State Agency and Makhkamov Otabek Mukhtarovich, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The discussion focused on preparing a joint roadmap for cooperation between the institutions in social innovations, startups, and other areas. The Deputy Minister expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the State Agency and readiness for joint activities.

The delegation also held bilateral meetings with the heads of the “INNO Technopark” and “Yashnabad” innovation technoparks operating under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Extensive discussions were held on organizing cooperation activities within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed on December 15, 2022, between the State Agency’s “Innovation Center” and the “Yashnabad” innovation technopark, including the implementation of mutual experience programs in startups and acceleration, and the preparation of a joint roadmap.
