“ASAN Service” Organized an International Forum in Africa
On June 21–23, 2025, a regional forum titled “Innovation in Governance: Enhancing Agile, Inclusive, and Human-Centric Services for All” was held at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa. The event was co-organized by the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations, in partnership with the African Union and the Government of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The forum took place within the framework of the conference marking the 10th Africa Public Service Day.
The forum, organized in accordance with the Contribution Agreement signed between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United Nations on November 11, 2024, brought together nearly 100 delegates, including heads of relevant state authorities from over 30 countries, international organization officials, and experts.
The opening ceremony featured remarks by the Chairman of the State Agency, a representative of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs, the Commissioner of the Ethiopian Civil Service Commission, and the African Union Director for Governance and Conflict Prevention.
Chairman of the State Agency Ulvi Mehdiyev congratulated the representatives from the African continent on Africa Public Service Day. Highlighting the importance of providing transparent, accessible, and innovative services, the Chairman emphasized Azerbaijan's readiness to share its best practices and the experience of the “ASAN Service” model in this field.
During the forum, which featured roundtable discussions on the transformation and future of public services, the transition to multi-sectoral service delivery, as well as expert sessions and case studies of various countries, the Head of the International Relations Department of the State Agency delivered a comprehensive presentation on the activities of “ASAN Service” and other areas of the Agency's work.
İn the framework of the forum, meetings were held with high-ranking officials from Eswatini, Ghana, The Gambia, and the Maldives. Preliminary agreements were reached regarding the implementation of the “ASAN Service” experience in these countries.
On the final day of the forum, the participants visited the “MESOB” public service center, which was established based on the “ASAN Service” model.
