“ASAN Service” once again represented at the UN

The Head of the International Relations Department of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan participated as a speaker in an event titled “Advancing Skills and New Mindsets for Future Governance in the Global South” held at the United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York, USA. The event was organized by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), and the African Association for Public Administration and Management (AAPAM).

The primary objective of the event was to highlight initiatives by institutions from various states aimed at promoting new skills and mindsets in public service delivery on a global scale, and to strengthen experience sharing among countries of the Global South. A priority task was also to facilitate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through the development of skills and mindsets within public administration systems.

During the event, the “ASAN Service” model was presented to the participants, alongside information on other areas of activity of the State Agency and recent achievements in related fields.

Furthermore, key outcomes of the African Regional Forum on “Innovation in Public Service Delivery”, held in June of this year in Ethiopia and co-organized by the UN and the African Union, were presented.

Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held with the Head of Division at the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs to discuss activities planned under the Contribution Agreement signed last November.

Additionally, a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) was held to discuss ongoing cooperation between the State Agency and the corresponding UAE government body.
