The was held a presentation of “ASAN service” at the African Union Headquarters
The representative of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan paid a visit the city of Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia, on December 7-8, 2016.
The aim of the visit, which was implemented within the invitation of the African Union, was to introduce the advanced model of Azerbaijan – “ASAN service” among the African countries and enlarge cooperation between Azerbaijan and African Union in the field public services delivery.
In the framework of the visit, a delegation, led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Elman Abdullayev, also, consisted of the representative of the State Agency too, took a place at the special session on the topic “Public services and administration” at the African Union Headquarters.
The representative of the State Agency made a comprehensive presentation on success and activities of “ASAN service” as a part of efficient reforms in the field of public services delivery and public administration by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. It was mentioned, that “ASAN service”, which is based on the principles of transparency, efficiency, accessibility, accountability and flexibility, and stands for the citizens’ satisfaction, laid the foundation for new ideas and concepts in the provision of public services. It was mentioned, that Azerbaijani brand “ASAN service” received United Nations Public Service Award 2015 and known as an advanced mechanism in this field.
Should note, that Azerbaijan, as only country, which is not a member of the African Union, was invited to the session to share with own experience in the field of public services delivery.
Besides the presentation, there was a stand of “ASAN service” at the African Union Headquarters reflecting the activities and achievements. Agency officials, including the deputy chairman of the African Union Commission, Mr. Erastus Mvenca and General Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Djeneba Diarra had a look on the stand and got acquainted with the activities of “ASAN service”.
In the frame of visit, there were held meetings with the State Minister on state service and human resources of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and head of the department of political studies and analysis of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Mekonen Haddis. Reforms, which are being implemented in the field of public services delivery in Azerbaijan was an objective of the meetings, also, it was continued by discussions regarding the prospects of further cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ethiopia in this direction.
