Ethiopia to implement “ASAN service” model


From October 26 to November 4, 2023, the delegation from the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia embarked on an official visit to our country.

Initiated by Ethiopia, the primary purpose of this visit was to engage in discussions regarding the implementation of the "ASAN service" concept in Ethiopia and to acquaint themselves with projects in the realms of social innovations and public service delivery conducted by the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations.

As part of the visit's agenda, a meeting transpired between the Chairperson of the State Agency, Ulvi Mehdiyev, and the Ethiopian delegation. Detailed information was provided to the guests about the objectives behind establishing "ASAN service" centers and the ongoing activities. Notably, significant achievements were highlighted in fostering effective public administration through the inception of the "ASAN service", contributing to heightened transparency and the integration of modern innovations.

Chairperson Ulvi Mehdiyev fondly recalled his visit to Ethiopia and expressed his willingness to provide continued support in sharing Azerbaijan's expertise in public services.

Various departments of the state agency also presented to the delegation.

The Ethiopian visitors had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the operations of Baku's "ASAN service" centers No. 3 and 7, the Shamakhi "ASAN life" complex, the mobile ASAN service, the 108 Call Center, the "INNOLAND" Incubation and Acceleration Center, the ASAN Innovative Development Center, "ABAD," and ASAN Radio.

As a result of the visit, an agreement was reached to formulate a roadmap concerning the application of the "ASAN service" experience in Ethiopia. Additionally, plans for mutual visits were established to further enhance collaboration between the two countries.
