Forum of Azerbaijani and UAE Ministers Held with the Organization of ASAN Service
On June 11, 2024, the Azerbaijan – United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ministers' Experience Exchange Forum commenced in Baku.
The event was jointly organized by the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs. The forum, held within the framework of the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Government Experience Exchange between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates", is attended by around 30 senior officials on various fields the Emirates and Azerbaijan.
The primary aim is to promote innovations and technologies in public service delivery, develop health systems for the global community, and establish relevant frameworks and policies to accelerate economic recovery. Additionally, key objectives include discussions on recent achievements in education and social welfare, as well as the latest trends related to environmental and green energy issues in connection with Azerbaijan's hosting of the COP29 event.
The forum began with a video presentation dedicated to Azerbaijan-UAE cooperation.
Following this, Ulvi Mehdiyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Ohoud Al Roumi, UAE Minister of State for Government Development and the Future, delivered opening speeches.
Subsequently, there were presentations and speeches by government officials from various sectors of both the Azerbaijani and UAE governments. In this context, the advanced experiences of both countries in relevant fields were showcased.
On the second day of the forum, it is planned to organize parallel sessions based on the continuation of discussions on the aforementioned topics.
It should be noted that on November 28, 2022, the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Government Experience Exchange between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United Arab Emirates" was signed.
The Memorandum of Understanding envisages the sharing of "ASAN service" experiences with the United Arab Emirates, capacity building in public services, exchange of knowledge and best practices in service excellence, volunteerism, and the sharing of the "Government Acceleration Program" managed by the UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs with the Azerbaijani side.
