Azerbaijan's “ASAN service” model welcomed and presented at the forum in Morocco
The First International Forum of Local Authorities in Africa is held in Rabat, Morocco. The forum is dedicated to local government and human resources.
Azad Jafarli, the head of the State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, represents Azerbaijan at the event, told the embassy of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Morocco to AZERTAC.
The Moroccan Ministry of Interior, the African Union of Local Cities and Local Authorities, the African Academy of Local Governments, the Moroccan City Councilors Association, and the Rabat International University hosted a meeting of Moroccan Cabinet members, international organizations, central, local and regional governments of African countries senior officials, representatives of diplomatic corporations and academic circles.
Recent trends in the African continent include the need to improve the quality of public services and to train qualified personnel in this area. From this point of view, the “ASAN service” model has been presented to African countries as the best international practice.
At the plenary session on the theme "The place of human capital in the context of new geopolitics and counter-centering in Africa", the representative of the State Agency made a presentation on the activities of “ASAN service”. A representative of the agency informed about the achievements of “ASAN service” in the field of personnel training in recent years, which is part of President Ilham Aliyev's reforms in public administration. Successful experience gained in the delivery of public and private services to citizens through application of innovations from a single space was noted. It was noted that co-operation on improvement of public services in some countries of the world was carried out on the basis of “ASAN service” model.
The participants, interested in presenting the presentation, were interested in the possibility of trainings by ASAN experts for the employees of the central and regional bodies of African countries, as well as the specialists from partner organizations from the private sector. Also, the participants expressed their readiness to cooperate on the formation of personnel potential based on ASAN experience.
During the visit, the representatives of the State Agency held bilateral meetings with representatives of African countries, representatives of international organizations, including ISESCO, and discussed future cooperation prospects.
